On recent post we submitted about how to connect mobile broadband in ubuntu platform. One of my friend asked how to active or access internet connection using BSNL’s EVDO kit in ubuntu OS. We all know EVDO is a basic plan for home users under cdma technology launched by BSNL two year back. And I tried with EVDO kit to connect broadband connection under Ubuntu 11.04.

Here are the steps to create EVDO setup in ubuntu (Linux OS):

Connect your EVDO card to PC using USB serial Portal

Go to system property -> network connection

Check with mobile broadband tab and add new connection

Select device and country as per mobile broadband setup we posted recently.

Ubuntu 11.04 EVDO setup Connecting step: BSNL’s EVDO in UBUNTU 11.04

Now enter #777 to the number and username and password under mobile broadband tab then save.

Now open Firefox browser and browser with limited speed.

Note: Don’t forget to check connect automatically.
