Today’s technology market lot of free software’s available for download. At a same time, Trojan and malware causes for software installation. For experience in my home my cousins are always using facebook chat and spent more time on Facebook even at their exam time also, So I decided to block facebook website.

How to block websites without using any software:

  1. Go to start menu -> My computer-> Open Local disk C
  2. Open windows folder -> System 32->drivers-> etc
  3. In etc folder open hosts file using right click and open with Notepad
  4. In Notepad something like below code
  5. In the above note, you just create 127.0.0.1 facebook.com, under 127.0.0.1 localhost
  6. Save notepad and replace original.

In website name don’t want to enter www. In front of website name

If you want to block more than one site

127.0.0.1 orkut.com
127.0.0.1 youtube.com
127.0.0.1 myspace.com
127.0.0.1 Hi5.com

If you have only Internet explorer browse, Follow this step:

1. Open IE and goto Tools and Internet Options
2. Click the Privacy tab
3. In the Privacy tab, Click Sites
4. Type in the site address that you want to Block and Click OK.
